Love is Everything

Love is everything.

This is what I try to remind myself every time I get stuck behind the role I find myself when I’m chugging away at the corporate machine chasing the dollar.

There’s a subtle beauty in everything and everywhere, but the mind is quite good at ignoring this blatant and universal truth.

By observing my own mind I can see how, even after thousands of hours of meditation, taking sacred medicine with shamans in the Amazon, promising myself to never forget the profound truths and realizations that came onto me, I still and often do, fall into the grog.

I like to refer to the grog as the symptom of living in the highly consumerist modern world. It’s like a chronic disease for the soul.

Your focus narrows onto your own survival, chasing money and living with a scarcity mindset that you might soon lose it all. Your job, your health, your home, your girlfriend.

The grog will claim your life if you let it. It will put you in a dense fog and beat you down until you’re stuck chattering about Elon Musk being a nazi or not and dividing yourself into a color of red or blue.

Step back.
