Surviving the Singularity

We live in interesting times. There’s no denying that. We have access to all the world’s information, an ability to connect with anyone on the planet at the touch of a button, an AI that can write us a novel, a research paper, write a movie script, create an animated movie. It’s pretty a pretty wild time to be alive and I’m amazed to have been incarnated onto this Earth during such a magical time.

What’s funny is that most of us don’t even realize or appreciate how profound this is. We tend to just accept what is in front of us and adapt without even being aware of what’s truly going on all around us. We stick to our familiar bubble of reality with our patterns, beliefs and routines and it can be so easy to forget the magic that surrounds us.

But if we just zoom out a bit and look at what’s happening in a holistic way, there’s a lot going on here. If we map out the all of human history on a timeline, the moment that is happening right now is where future historians are going to label as the pivotal moment, the turning point in which everything changed and nothing was ever the same again.

And we are living through it. The singularity is predicted to occur around the year 2045. I will probably still be alive then. And I don’t think it’s too farfetched of a prediction, considering that the internet didn’t even really exist just 30 years ago.
